Refund & Return Policy
At Rainy Day Sound Labs, we stand behind the quality of our hand-wound pickups. We want you to find the perfect tone for your instrument, while maintaining clear guidelines for our custom-built products.
1. 30-Day Return & Exchange Window
All regular stock pickups purchased directly from our store may be returned or exchanged within 30 days from the date of delivery.
2. Item Condition Requirements
To be eligible for a return or exchange, pickups must be in "as-new" condition. While we allow pickups to be temporarily installed to test the tone, they must not be altered, damaged, or abused.
Voided Returns/Exchanges: Your right to return or exchange is immediately voided if the item shows:

Excessive lead wire trimming.

Stripped mounting screw threads.

Scratches on the bobbins or covers.
-
The presence of steel wool, metal shavings, or debris on the magnets.
3. Types of Returns
A. Customer Preference (Tone Exchanges & Standard Returns)
If a pickup isn't the right fit for your specific guitar’s wood or electronics:

Exchanges: We offer a one-time exchange for any stock pickup of equal or lesser value. The customer is responsible for return shipping costs and any retail price difference.

Refunds: If you choose a refund instead of an exchange, a 10% restocking and processing fee will be deducted from your total refund. Original shipping costs are non-refundable, and the customer is responsible for all return shipping costs.
B. Defective or Incorrect Items
If your item arrives defective, or if we shipped the incorrect product, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. Rainy Day Sound Labs will cover all return shipping costs and waive any restocking fees to provide a full refund or a direct replacement.
4. Non-Returnable Items
There are absolutely no returns or exchanges on:

Custom "one-off" commissions.

Pre-wired harnesses.

Electronic accessories (potentiometers, capacitors, switches, jacks).

Items purchased through a third-party dealer or the secondary market.
5. How to Initiate a Return (The Process)
To ensure your return is processed quickly, please follow these exact steps:

Request an RMA: Email info@rainydaysoundlabs.com to request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Returns sent without an RMA will be rejected.

Pack Securely: Use the original retail packaging. Items damaged during return shipping due to poor packaging will not be eligible for a refund. We are not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit, so we strongly recommend using a carrier with tracking and insurance.

Include Documentation: Place a copy of your original invoice and the RMA number inside the shipping box.

6. Refund Processing Time
Once your return is received at our facility and inspected for condition, we will send you an email notification. Approved refunds will be processed and applied automatically to your original method of payment within 5 to 7 business days.
